Custom #:68181
Name:1989 Batman Costume & Locker
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Batman - Movie Style
Creator:BalDahark
Date Added:December 1, 2014
Base Figure:NECA Video Game Batman
Height:7.00 inches
I was one of the unfortunate people who bought the Video Game figure with the intent of painting him to look like the movie......
....RIGHT BEFORE Neca announced they would be releasing it after all!!!
Not to let a good figure go to waste, I simply painted it as intended and hollowed out the head! I don't have quite as steady a hand as necessary so the logo is a paper print out.

The 'safe' is a simple wooden box painted in a cold steel color. I know it's not 'movie accurate' (for example, the door in the movie is round) but it gets the job done I think

I feel your pain. I read about it the same day after buying the figure. Very creative way to salvage the situation!

I don't, but it was pretty straight forward. The most I did was boil him in hot water to easily remove the head. I used an exacto blade to make a hairline slit down the back of the cowl and the Keaton head came out very easily.
I spray primed it (and AFTER I did that, Neca announced that they were making one.....) and a day later spraypainted it satin black.

One more thing, the figure has a neck, even after you remove the head. I had to grind it down so the inside of the cowl would look empty

Only as an exclusive with the 25th anniversary Blu Ray of the movie. It's the only way that can get around the license limitations that prevent them from releasing it as a normal item you get in shops. Would be great if they someday get the full license to any 7 inch DC character release they'd like to do.
