The main antagonist of the 1990 cult classic horror film "Nightbreed", directed by Clive Barker. The body was entirely repainted with acrylics, and sprayed with a thin layer of gloss. I then carved away at the base figure's head to get the appropriate shape, deepened the eye sockets, and added several thin strands of hot glue in areas where I needed some more heavily defined wrinkles in the mask. Next, I covered the head in a water-based glue and quickly adhered a small sheet of appropriately textured and colored fabric to the face, wrapping it around the head. After trimming away the excess fabric and fastening it down tightly at the back of the head, I cut a small strip of corrugated sheet metal and superglued it to the front of the mask, making the zipper. I couldn't find any actual buttons small enough to make the eyes, so instead I used two tiny adhesive jewels that I flipped around and painted to look like buttons, which actually looked much better that I expected. For the knife, I used the knife piece from the board game "Clue", shaved it down with a grinding wheel to make it look sharper, and distressed it with acrylic paints. Please wait... |
