Once I found out that the new "Time of the Doctor" set would be released with a swapable Capaldi head, I knew I wanted to customize a 12th Doctor figure. I used a 5th Doctor Peter Davison figure as the base. I trimmed the bottom of his coat and removed the celery. I used epoxy and turned his shoes into boots and made his sweater vest into a suit vest. I then painted his suit black (with a slightly blue tint) with his vest a dark grey. His shirt had to be repainted white to get rid of the ??'s. I had actually finished the body before the TOTD set was even released. :cP

I had faith that once I did receive the new figure that the Capaldi head would fit properly. It did not quite fit, but only slightly. I used a wood peg to fit on the head and used a small amount of epoxy to extend the neck only about a quarter of an inch or so. It was the difference between looking proper and looking like a hunch-back. The small piece was painted flesh tone, and that was it!
