I've never been so excited for a figure to come out only to be so bitterly disappointed when I finally got him. It's not a terrible figure, but it did need tweaking.

The biggest gripe I had with him was the mask. It was huge and didn't look like Vader to me so I made a new head from the Epic Force Vader figure released way back in the day (you know the ones, they rotate on bases and have zero articulation). I cut and dremeled away the helmet on the EF head, re-sculpted the eyebrows with black Milliput and added a ball joint to his neck taken from a Infinite Series ML Spider-man head. The ball socket fits perfectly to the Vader body and retains all the articulation of the original. I then placed the Black series helmet on the finished EF head and Bob's your uncle Harry, we have a more screen accurate Vader Head!

Next I ditched the chain as it was the wrong colour. Traditionally it's black. Yes I know I'm a nerd, but I can't help it! Please don't judge me. :-( I've ordered a new chain but it still hasn't arrived. I tailored the cape so it hangs better and did the same with the robes. By the way, Kudos to Hasbro for including high quality soft goods! I also filled in the holes in his chest armour that were used to hold his cape in place then sanded it down so it looked smooth an whole again.

For his accessories I made him some new variant hands so he can grip his Lightsaber with both fists and I also I pinched the cool pointing figure hand from the EF Vader for alternate poses. Speaking of the Lightsaber, I drilled tiny holes in the end and added a small wire loop so you can now hang it from his belt hook, which I also made from wire. I know it doesn't hang from the bottom in the movies but this was the only way I could do it without destroying the saber handle.

To finish him off I re-painted him along with his original mask and very cool crusty unmasked head.
Watch out for updates on this guy and thanks for looking!

I like your mods a lot! Your masked head worked out great, and the alt unmasked head looks much better! I didn't see this when I did mine, but great minds think alike and all that! I wish I had because I would have used this for reference!

Thanks Pulpy! It's very cool that we both had the same ideas, even down to making a belt hook for the lightsaber!

I used a modified cast of a luke lightsabre because I thought the factory one was too small. I also tried to add a clip in the actual spot, but I couldn't find something small enough to not stick out and be overly noticeable, so I had to bite the bullet and just use the one on the luke sabre.

Hi. Sorry, this particular one is part of my collection and isn't for sale, but if you are able to get hold of both a BS and Epic Force Vader I'd be happy to make the modifications for you!
