I really appreciate the fact that for the past couple of weeks I've been posting less v2 and v3 variations. One thing I love about Street Fighter is the fact that when you decide you want to make a character, you just need to pick the right color. For Mortal Kombat, their designs change immensely from game to game, making it difficult to choose at times. And this is a Street Fighter character most people should definitely know. Brother of Gouken, Akuma gave in to the Satsui no Hado and became the boss character we all know and love. For the longest, it was believed he killed Gouken, but he apparently just put him in a coma as Gouken returns in Street Fighter IV. Around that same time is when Akuma is fully corrupted by the Satsui no Hado and becomes Oni. So, this seemed like the perfect pairing to finish at the same time. Creating this guy was quite the process, and one of those few that barely resembles the base figure at all. The gi was entirely sculpted, with the base of the skirt portion being from Dr Doom and Ronin. Straps of the belt comes from Iron Fist, with twisted sculpt for the rope look. I went through three heads before I realized the Punisher head was perfect for him. The expression matched his classic portrait almost exactly. From there, I just had to sculpt up the hair. Took a couple of tries, but I think I finally got it decently accurate. Sculpted up the gloves, added the kanji to his back, and finished him off with beads around his neck. Very happy with how he came out in the end.
