Inspiration can strike at any time and any place. The inspiration for this Shockwave custom came to me when I found several broken movie transformers at my local swap meet. Among my finds was a Dark of the moon Leaderclass IronHide. I loved the look and build of IronHide and he was armed to the teeth. With 2 hidden arm blasters, a chest cannon and a hidden knife in his leg compartment I thought he would make a pretty awesome Shockwave. Unfortunately his electronics was fried and I was unsuccessful in trying to repair it. I ripped out all the truck parts and replaced it with as much fodder as I could fit and custom sculpted his head. He does not have an alt mode.

Recently I purchased Metal Mayhem instructional dvd from Big Bad toy store. If you are unaware, it's a how to custom paint transformers dvd from one of the best customizers on the planet Encline designs. The dvd was immensely helpful and I highly recommended it if you want to add to your painting skill set. I used his hand painting and airbrushing techniques to paint Shockwave. I have a long ways to go to perfecting this but it was a good learning process.
