As a huge Star Trek fan and collector of the 90's Playmates figures, I was rather sad that Playmates never produced figures of Star Trek - Enterprise, which in my opinion was one of the best Trek-shows. So I decided to customize the main crew in my preferred 4.5" size.

For Sato, I used the Hitchcock figure from Playmates' SeaQuest line as base for the body. I sanded and dremeled most of the zippers and patches and re-sculpted the uniform with apoxie.

The head is an Art Asylum Sato head shrunken down to fit the size with Hydroshrink. While making the casting of the head, I was able to re-sculpt the neck and peg according to the standards used by Playmates in order to retain articulation. I also re-sculpted the ponytail.

Then I painted the figure with enamel paint by Revell and printed the shoulder patch on decal paper.
