"I AM THE SANDMAN...AND NO MAN CAN ESCAPE MY DARK DREAMS"
Sandman Mystery theater was one of my favorite books of the '90s. For a long time I've wanted to customize a figure of Wesley Dodd's pulp detective but have always out it off, despite having all the necessary pieces in my fodder bin for years. Scarecrow Creations' recent entry inspired me to finally get started on it. Like him, I used a DCUC Question. I removed the head and attached a generic DCUC head since I wanted to use the gas mask (repainted) and fedora from the original DCD Sandman figure from back in the late 1990s.

The coloring on Wesley's suit and trench coat has ranged from story to story from a tan to grey coat and a yellowish to tan suit. I finally settled on a color scheme I liked, dry-brushed the coat a bit to give it some depth, and added the gas gun from the original DCD figure.

I like how he came out (better than what the photos show unfortunately) and he is perched high above my desk in a place of honor to protect me from the psychopaths, murderers, and nightmares.
