Being a huge fan of the Left 4 Dead games I present the first of what I hope will be all eight characters from both games (Bill and Francis are in progress as I type this.). This was originally Michael Madsen’s character Mr. Blonde from the original set of Reservoir Dogs figures from Mezco. I’d bought them for another project, but only needed three of the four. I kept looking at Madsen/Mr. Blonde thinking it reminded me of something. Finally, it dawned on me, and work began. I dremelled off his tie and the top of his head, as well as sanding into the leg where his holster is strapped. Added a rubber band for the strap and a fodder holster. Resculpted the hair to look more like Nick’s slicked back look and matched it to the sides. Next was sculpting a collar over the jacket lapels and the shirt. From there the hair was painted black, the shirt blue, the shoes, holster and strap brown, and a blue base coat under lots and lots of coats of white to change his black suit to white. Next came the blood spatters and dirtying up the suit a bit with various random applications of color washes. Final bit of sculpting for the ring on his right hand (that may or may not be some kind of criminal connection to Francis from the first game.) Found an M4 or close approximation in my weapons fodder and the Reservoir Dogs stand (About the only way he’ll stand.) and you have Nick from Left 4 Dead 2. Paints were all Citadel. Sculpt was Apoxie Sculpt. Please wait... |
