This is another custom I've thought about doing for a really long time. Although the Doctor Who movie wasn't the Doctor's finest 86 minutes, it still has a place in every true Whovian's heart(s). It took me awhile to decide to finally purchase a 2nd 7th Doctor/TARDIS set, but once I did I got right to work on this custom set. The TARDIS wasn't a big change, but it was still a custom I felt was worth doing. I started by taping off all the windows, signage, and the lantern bulb. I wanted to get as close as I could to movie accuracy, so I used epoxy to create a squared top plate to the lantern. Once this was done, I spray painted the entire thing (Satin Sapphire was the closest blue I could find in spray paint) with about 3 coats. Once dry, I removed all the tape and used a brush to paint the details on the windows, door, and lantern. I reprinted the door sign to get it a deeper blue to match the new TARDIS color and viola! The 7th Doctor took a bit more work. I didn't get him as movie accurate as I had hoped, but I think he still reflects the character true enough. I started by cutting down his sweater vest to the shape of his "new" vest. I then used epoxy again to create detail in the vest and tie. I used more epoxy to create his crazy hair which was quite a task. Once these were done, I repainted the vest, tie, hair, and coat. I left the existing scarf for simplicity, but decided to paint it red to match his movie colors. There it is! It's always fun doing the Doctor Who customs and I love seeing all the DW customs y'all create, too. Keep 'em comin'!
