In 2008 like many Bat-fans the must have figure was the Joker from the Dark Knight as portrayed by the magnificent Heath Ledger. Surprise surprise they sold like hot cakes and after trailing around shops like Forbidden Planet I managed to find one in my local Asda. However, it was a variant figure so no purple coat and trousers but instead a bright green coat and trousers! And then we got the face clearly the producers of the figure didn't want a child's toy to be too "scary" as Ledgers Joker defiantly was (I remember at least two children having to leave the cinema during a Joker moment). Thus the figure that was produced had a pure white face and neck, Krusty the clown style and a very cartoonish look all round. So 6 years later and starting to do customs I dug Krusty the Joker out to make him the figure I wanted in 2008.
I used flesh paints on the face to show where his make-up has rubbed off and on his neck as he only paint his face in the film, I elongated the smile and messed the black eye paint up a wee bit. Of course I re-painted the suit purple but instead of painting the pinkish wait coat to the film green I kept it as I thought it worked rather well in place of the green.
