I wanted to make a new Batman for some time now. Initially, this guy was supposed to donate his legs to a new Wolverine I'm making, buy I've changed my mind before I had the chance to amputate them. It turns out that this Batman figure is actually a very nice toy, he just needed a repaint badly. With time, I've found some thing I don't like about him, though, so I've decided to change them. The Capullo head is meh because I don't like super stylized toys. The cape was dumb construction wise. I hated that stupid small belt they gave him. And don't even get me started on those scrawny, misshapen feet without ankle rocker. I've thrown those parts away and used these instead: head - DCC Batman Inc. cape and feet - DCC N52 Jim Lee Bats belt - LCBH Judge Death, Jim Lee Bats and fodder It took more time that I thought it should - I also had to modify and resculpt his chest, kneepads (I hate the bat ears on them) and new chin a bit, add revoltech joints for ankles - but here he is and I'm really happy with how he turned out. As for paints, the gray areas are shaded with my usual technique, where I use multiple very similiar shades of a color to make the shading lighter and more organic (you could say "implied" even). It looks best in hand, though, photos have a hard time to show it properly. And that's that. I hope you like him, folks! A ton more pics on my FB page (Shinigami Customs). ![]() |
