Last fall I was on vacation in Japan and I stumbled upon a really cheap Super Shinken Red Figuart that I had to have. As awesome as he was I needed a way to display him on my shelf. So I cut out a chunk of foam and attached it to a piece of balsa wood. After that I mixed in a few pieces of tree bark and rock to give it a more natural look. Afterwards I used "filler material" (basically just chaulk, glue, plaster and water) to fill in the gaps. After that I used grass flock to cover the whole thing. For the flame effects I took an old wire hanger and cut it into two pieces. Those pieces were covered in hot glue and then painted to resemble burning flames.
