The Colossus of Jotunheim is a concept figure I came up with. I never felt like the Wal-Mart exclusive Frost Giant did the figure much justice; he was way too small. I took a Rotocast Hulk, added tons of sculpting and paint, and this is the result. I can't recall how much time was invested, I only know I've been working on him on and off for about 4 months or so. Sometimes I think customizing is a single guy's hobby. Any time I could get at him, I did. A huge figure like this takes tons of paint, tons of sculpting and tons of detail. But he made a great custom! He is 11.5 inches tall. Unfortunately, I don't have the original Frost Giant to pose him with, so Judge Dredd was my stand-in. It was overwhelming tackling something like this when I've only done two other customs, and they were both 6-inchers :) The hair, nails, scars, shin padding and ice armor protrusions were all custom sculpted. He also comes with a huge spear, four severed heads with a napsack to carry them in, and a frozen dwarf you might recognize :) I didn't occur to me until I was almost done with the figure that I probably could have just bought some driveway gravel and painted it like ice, and then just attached it to him, honestly the sanding took forever on all the ice spikes. I learned a lot though, and will apply it to my next figure. It will probably be some time before I attempt anything this large again, I've been working with smaller figures in the meantime. It was an accomplishment though. And I know whoever wins him will be happy with the figure. It's a cool feeling to know your work will be enjoyed by someone somewhere in the world, displayed in their collection with other great figures.
