After some brainstorming and serious consideration, I decided to make my personal favorite couple, Ariel and Eric, yet to envision them as a bit more bada$$. For Ariel I repainted a Hope Summers figure, added a deep v into her battle hero suit so that I could reference and show her purple bra, like her original purple shells, and I even added a little painted lace trim to it. I repainted the wrappings on her arms and legs to look like seaweed. Her legs were reshaped, as they came quite bowed in the box. For the spot where Ariel originally had a tail, I added a design similar to the design of her tail's flourish at the top. Her necklace is a hacked up Prince of Persia belt from the 3.75 figure, and the idea there was that she's protecting her voice from ever being stolen again. For Eric, he is a repainted Steve Rogers from the Winter Soldier line, removed the star and replaced it with a purple shell overlaying a trident. His color scheme is identical to the original Eric, with a white shirt, grey pants, black boots, and red belt. The boot tops were added leather pieces, and his red belt is made out of a shimmery fabric that changes black to red. They both have battle scars. I painted their eyes looking in opposite directions, so that they can gaze dramatically at each other. ;)
I wondered in which contest it was that I had seen your work previously. This pair looks awesome. Don't know why I didn't comment on it before, but I know I gave you 5 stars. These are really beautiful.
Buff congratulations on this winning Ariel and Eric! I knew this was your creation. Your painting style is very unique and so super detailed and sharp. Cool interpretation of these two! Love that last pic, "kiss the girl!" lol
haha buff my friend.... you sure did out do yourself with this power couple! Amazing job, I love every detail about these 2 especially Ariel's. The creativeness with the neck protector, bra, design of the suit.... just all of it pays such home-age to the original. And you gotta love the scars! Amazing stuff buff
Excellent work! I am impressed with how you improved the hope head with just a paint job. I've been holding off using one of these heads, but I think you've inspired me to give it a shot. Quick question: How did you protect the paint job on this figure to avoid paint rub?

If I had to nitpick, some of the white on Eric's upper could be a little cleaner, but great job, nonetheless...
