Stilt-Man (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Here's my rendition of Marvel's Stilt-Man, standing 19 inches tall. The torso and arms are from a Marvel Legends Protector. The armor around his neck is a combination of styrene and Apoxie Sculpt, and his backpack was made from a dry erase marker and Apoxie. The little tubes on his belt are dowel rods. The head is from a Marvel legends Constrictor, with sewing pins and Apoxie for the antenna. I really love the evil grin on his face. I did have to trim the fangs, though. For the legs I used CPVC pipe. To make the grooves, I first sawed notches into the pipe. These were really rough, so I filled them with Apoxie sculpt, the pressed finer lines into the putty. Then I sanded them smooth once the putty cured. The legs are cut into two portions, a shorter piece permantly attached to the hip balls, and a longer piece that is removable. He can be displayed at both normal and extended height. I cut the ends off of some cheap dry erase markers to make the pegs for the removable sections. They are just snug enough to slip into the pipe and stay in place. Finally, the removable feet were made from the hip ball joints of an old Fantastic 4 movie Thing figure, Apoxie sculpt, and a metal washer at the bottom. To make the pegs for the feet I set a screw into the disc of each ball joint, then placed the end of a marker filled with Apoxie over each screw. He can stand on his own, but is easily tipped over because of his height. With a couple display stands on this feet he stands securely. Finally the gun is just Protector's gun with a small round dish glued on the front and a finish nail stuck in the center. Please wait... |
