Mecha Dutch (Alien vs Predator) Custom Action Figure
I was hesitant to upload this as it is for the most part a copy of Jin Saotome's recipe. But having shown it to him and received his blessing to post, here it is. I will only be exploring the things I did different in this description and will not add my logo to the pics. My cousin originally spotted Jin's Major Dutch Schafer and being a big fan of the game, he wanted one something fierce. Jin however had sold his long ago, so I offered to make him one. We agreed that Jin's recipe was such a thing of beauty, we wanted to adhere to it as much as possible, though some changes were made due to necessity. We eventually decided to go with a different paint scheme to differentiate it from his. The shoulder straps are from Neca Duke nukem which upon further inspection I believe Jin may have used but I left all the grenades and pouches on and ran it to the belt like a load bearing vest. The power pack is from a Mcfarlane Halo Jorge figure as are the knee pads. The elbow pad is a colonial marine knee pad. The bicep portion of the mech arm is a gundam leg spliced into the ball hinge shoulder. The elbow joint was made from an existing ball socket that happened to fit the gundam ball joint and attached with JB steel stick(a substance I'm growing increasingly fond of). the cannon is from a spawn 11 gun with everything pulled off. Instead of a hose running from the mech wrist to the bicep I used a wire bundle from the McFarlane queen alien diorama. He wanted to keep all dutch's original accessories so the pistol holster was modified to be a lefty, the knife was moved to his leg and the rifle slung around his arm. This is now a central piece of his collection. Anything not covered here can be found on Jin's original figure page. Please wait... |
