Base Figure:neca lone ranger and MS Wolverine head cast
Height:7.00 inches
Completion Time:28.00 hours
Articulation:16 points
The wolverine was a good movie, but I was disappointed that the Marvel Select wolverine was him in the pit outfit, which he was only in for a couple of minutes. I like the street look of Logan, and was inspired by kent32's blue jean look. But I wanted something from the wolverine so I went with 'the man in black' look.
Recipe:
Head: is a cast of my MS Wolverine the best likeness so far imo.
Body: lone ranger from neca
Claws: Bobby pin s
The thing that took the longest was making a mold of the head to get a good cast but finally after hours of failure after failure success! !!

I can cast another of the main head. I haven't yet made molds of the other two yet, but I am planning on it. PM me to work out details, I'm going on vacation so it may be a minute before I can get back to you though. And thanks for the look glad you liked the custom!

Aren't safety pins too thin though? I want proper flat bladed claws, not knitting needles. Got some bobby pins ordered on eBay for cheap since they don't sell them in my small little english town. Got wire cutters. Just want to put one of the spare heads on in a way it can still be swapped with my main Wolvie figure. Damn I wanna do this custom so much. I loved that movie (my fave movie of 2013 easily) and I like the long black coat and suit look for him. It's quite classier than his regular stuff but still cool. Ragh. This custom has me inspiiiiired...

Thanks I will await the bobby pins. I can't afford a dremel but I do have a scalpel blade I can use if I am careful.

OK I ordered some bobby pins. Do I need a dremel or is there a cheaper way of adding the claws? Also I'm now keeping a saved search on eBay for that Lone Ranger figure cos the more I keep looking at this custom, the more I want to have a go at making one for myself. I have the regular Wolverine so could use one of his spare heads I suppose.

Hey brother, too make claws out of bobby pins is one way to make claws. You can also make claws using safety pins which are both pretty cheap, you would also need to buy a wire cutter. I can get a pack of bobby or safety pins and a wire cutter at my local Dollar Tree for a total of 2 dollara and some change. As for the head any wolverine head can work, you just have to make sure its is easily compatible which it should. Hope this helps brother.

Oh my bad brother, I didn't realize you were from England. Lol. Anyways, well then bobby pins it is, I have used both but it also depends on which wolverine im making. Since the bobby pins are already flat you would just need to cut them and shape them to look like claws. After that, you would need to dremel little holes on his fists to place his claws in. You can use a fine point blade exacto knife.

I'm glad that I inspired you to make your own wolverine. You could try Hastings Web site for the lone ranger they are on clearance for $7 plus whatever shipping would be, I think they ship to England but not sure. To shape the claws I used a dremel, there is a good tutorial on how to do it in the tutorial section. I hope this helps you if you have any more questions just ask! And thanks again for your interest.

Hm, I need to try that bobby pin thing. Those claws look nice and stiff and stabby. Nice custom and I like the outfit. The head cast turned out well. Is it removable so you can switch to the different expression heads the factory figure comes with?

Thanks for those kind words. Answering you question, the head does come of but the MS Wolverine heads are a little loose so that's why I went and made a cast so I could mess around without damaging the original. Cool thing about the lone ranger body is the peg for its head is thin and pops off without having to heat it. Hope this help you.
