I wanted to make another Mecha built from junk as its what I have the most fun doing.....This time around however I wanted to make one that moved and could function like it was an actual mech so it took some creative use of junk...

War Mech model FireStride was a tool of war in the conquest of planets with a primary function of "Tactical Burns". Wielding duel flamethrowers and heavy grenade launchers he was often used to rid a world of life sustaining ecology, food, and in general places to hide. In battle he was not only utilized to speed up enemy attrition, but also seeing the fire of gods themselves raining down was a good mechanism for defeating the will of the struggling worlds. When the alien armada was finally defeated most of the FireStride models were left to rust where they stood, the fear they instilled being so great people believed they would come back from the dead merely to satisfy their need to reign fire once more..

He was made using various junk and a few fodder pieces. His chest piece and back plating are made from tic tac container lids...as well the upper thigh swivel of his legs. The waist piece is a wine cork which I dremmeled to attach a joint for the legs which can move to a 90 degree angle....other than that hes a lot of junk his waist gears are from those new fangled white out pen things and the actualy work like a ratchet as seen in the photos...pen cases for arm armor...marker caps for flamethrower nozzles...some parts from the top of an axe spray can and various other junk to complete the look...

For the paint I used some citadel texture to make a nice rusted battle damaged by excessive fire look and used testors to make a nice cammo pattern and the red and yellow flair then I washed it all with thinned out black and dabbed it with a towel to add a nice ash and weathered look to the overall piece...Then I made up some flame effect and he was done..Hope you enjoy he was fun to make...
