With my last submission of the day I give you my most involved custom yet.
The customer contacted me about creating a Superior Venom from an Important base for the maximum range of articulation.

The parts we chose were a Super Action Statue Kars body with Super Action Statue Star Platinum lower legs. The spider legs are from an LOTR Shelob statue, I had to cut the legs at each of the sculpted spider joints and articulate them with Revoltech joints from a revoltech Batman, then sculpt all the lined texture you see. The Leg tips are sculpted from scratch on a wire armature. Each leg is completely modular and can be changed in size and sequence for different looks and lengths. The legs peg into a scratch sculpted backpack that also pegs into the figure bag, making the legs a removable accessory.

The work on the main body cconsisted of removing all factory paint and some sculpted details, dying the figure and resculpting certain areas to better match the characters proportions. Such as the trapezius muscles, back, abdominal muscles, rib area and forearms. I also carved in some definition into the pectoral area to make the design cohesive with the rest of the sculpting. I also split the feet with a knife and sculpted the "toe" claw-wrinkles.

Aside from the main body I sculpted the the head from scratch, I took one of Kars alternate heads, sanded it so just the peg remained and sculpted over that. Each tooth was individually sculpted then glued into place.

He has two sets of hands one pair of closed fists from Super Action Statue Kars and a pair of clawed hands with modified pegs from a Hasbro Black Panther.


Everything was wrapped up with a black paint job with blue and Grey dry brushing and a Chrome silver for the webbing.
