I had to make a figure from this game. Okami is a beautifully gorgeous piece of eye candy of a game. The game play and story are as magical as the artwork. I'm going to be making several different variants of this character and dioramas to go with each one.

This was why I've been looking for a good wolf figure. I would have loved to find an articulate one but it looks like I’m going to have to make one from scratch. I was browsing around a K.B. Toy store when I came across a generic pirate set that came with this wolf. I put in the WIPs so you can see the process. It was pretty much adding on with Apoxie and a paint job by hand. The fire on the shield was made with hot glue. This was actually a new thing for me to try and work with and it turned out just fine. I just placed the shield on wax paper and made a general shape of the flames with the hot glue gun. The wax paper didn't do its job though but the glue did. I had to melt off the paper from the glue. To define and shape the flames, I took the heated tip of the glue gun to "iron" the glue into shape. The paint job was also a bit tricky. The art style of the game has a watercolor look to it. It's kind of weird when you think about it. Trying to make a 3D rendering that's been made to look 2D back into a 3D look. I'm happy with the outcome of this figure but I think there is room for improvement and that's what I'll work on in the other figures I'll be making of this character. I went to a mini comic con in LA today that happens once a month and picked up a Marvel Select Wolverine: The Origin that comes with 3 wolves in different positions. They will be my base figures for the future Amaterasu customs ^_^. Hope you like what I have for now. Look forward to seeing even better ones in the future from me =D
