Always wanted a Machiko figure for my collection but wouldn't pay hot toys price, so I made my own. I only read the novels, never the comics so I have no image to emulate, this is my own take on her appearance. Made from a neca Lara Croft base, I had to cut off and realign her feet so she could stand and removed her hair and various accessories. She has classic predator gauntlets, wolf predator plasma caster, shin guards and thigh plates, scout predator cloth, necklace and shoulder armor, a customized kenner renegade mask which is not removable, her breast plate is made from three different armor pieces, two from scout, one from battle borg. Dreads from a battle borg predator head, each lock individually placed onto her head, one by one. Her gauntlets are a bit bulky but I figured they should be. I wanted to maintain a blend of human and predator features in her design, she's a bit more clothed than the average predator, maintains human footwear, carries normal grenades, and though she has a plasma caster, also uses a "hand burner", a weapon design she is more familiar with. I thought the GOW boltok pistol had kind of a "pred-tech" look to it and is quite large in her hand, the knife in her boot came from the same locust drone. She stands to proper scale with my other predators and is one of my favorite pieces.
To be honest, I never really liked the Hot Toys figure. At first, it was because I didn't know about Machiko, so when I saw what was being advertised as the She Predator, I was disappointed that she was a human.Once I knew what they were going for, I felt that they didn't get the head or the skintone right. I honestly thought she was a mix of African and Cacuasian for the longest time, because in some shots, she looked mixed, and in others, she looked white. Anyway, yours is a great take on her.
Haha well, the names are hidden, but some people's work is just undeniable. And, depending on the contest, some figures just slip through the cracks, unfortunately. But, keep plugging away!
Glad you like it. I try to be pretty thorough in the description for those who would like to build their own, but if I left anything out feel free to ask
