Director Bones has taken on a large role of late in the Batwoman comics....a large, crazy, unhinged role. I had an extra body from a Wesley figure in the fodder bin and decided to take a go at him. I repainted the suit in shades of dark blue to get away from all the black suited villains the bat-family already has. It finally began looking more black than blue so i wound up dry brushing it blue. I got the skull head from eBay (a pack of three actually. Maybe Dr Phosphorus needs to be next?). In the comics Bones has sometimes been depicted as having a white/bone-colored , grey, or a charcoal skull. Well I didn't want a dark skull cause then he would look no different than Black Mask. I didn't want a fresh, natural look either. I opted for something that would somehow point out his cyanide touch. First I painted it bone-colored (pinkish-yellowish-white) and over it added shades of grey, sometimes very washed out with water. A few white highlights, some dirty spots here and there and he was done. I think the end result looks like a normal skull but one that is contaminated somehow, dirty. Bones was born with transparent skin so I bore a hole into the neck, painted it black, and then attached the skull to the body with a grey plastic piece I cut off the end of a bo staff. I was tempted to somehow sculpt the neck but when i realized that it would not be visible from the front I went the easy route. The cigar is sculpted and the gun is from fodder. I spray fixed the entire figire except the skull. I wanted it to stay a chalky, dry texture.
