Luigi (Super Mario Bros) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:61753
Name:Luigi
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Super Mario Bros
Creator:NoodleChow
Date Added:May 21, 2014
Base Figure:Sofubi Luigi? SW, MU, Joe parts
Height:4.00 inches
Articulation:13 points
Can't make a Mario without putting together his brother. Started out with the Sofubi(?) line Luigi which is basically a pvc statue and added joints for some standard yet relatively intuitive articulation.

Head, torso, hands, and feet came from the base figure and everything else like the limbs and joint connections came from Marvel Universe, Star Wars, GI Joe, and even Superhero Showdown figures. The base figure is actually a smidge underscaled compared to Mario so had to compensate by swapping Mario's bigger hands and feet over to Luigi. Forgot to mention that in the Mario post. The donor neck came from a SW figure's elbow. Arms likely came from a mix of SW and Joe with barbell wrists from the necks of SHS figures. Legs were made from the lower legs of some SW figures and the barbell ankle connectors inside were from the barbell hips of MU figures. Used Green Stuff to sculpt in the collar and used ProCreate Putty for the missing detailing on the sides of the torso, over the legs, and for the pant cuffs. Painted up with Testors Acrylics.

Articulation is as follows: Swivel hinged neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Ball socketed barbell type joints for the wrists and ankles.

Great set! It's also great to see more customs from you on figure realm. I've seen your work on the other site. You are really skilled at making them with the best articulation, and perfect photos. Awesome Mario and Luigi!

Glad you dig! I'm gonna be slowly putting up some of the older stuff first before putting up any of the newer stuff.

Thank you! Luigi I found has a bit more range than Mario just based on his skinnier build. So much fun to pose these guys around.

Luigi! Between him and Mario, he's always been my favorite. The scaling between the two is perfect, and the work you put into him definitely shows. I applaud you, and then some. There is so much patience shown in these figures. I can't praise them enough. Brilliant work!

Thank you! Luigi never gets enough recognition. In hand and especially before construction Luigi just seems a bit undersized (could just be my imagination) but really glad it's not obvious in the pics.

These are beautiful and the photos make me feel like a kid again when I saw the cover to the first NINTENDO POWER.

Haha thanks man. I remember way back when wondering why there weren't any toys for Mario or Zelda so those sculpey looking figurines on the cover looked amazing. Seriously felt like an untapped market.
