The story goes back to the early seventies when The Champions of Angor were introduced in Justice League of America. They were another cross/company crossover without the red tape.(Being the rough equivalents of Marvel's Avengers.) Fast forward to the late eighties and they were re-introduced in Giffen's Justice League. Shortly afterward we learned about their arch-nemesis The Extremists, a group of villains correlated to Marvel's heavy hitters of Bad Guys.
Lord Havok started out as a DCUC Cyborg. I took the packaging from a figure cardback and formed the shoulders, then sculpted over with Apoxie Sculpt. I did a lot of sculpting to the head and added to his clamp appendage. The loin piece is a piece of blue vinyl. This is the figure where I learned to appreciate the value of base coating in black to bring a metallic feel when applying silver over the top.......more to come.
