Hey guys, while i wait for paint to dry i thought i'd share with you all my very first custom ever. I call him "the costner-cutioner" (dah dah daaaahh)! He is made from an old robin hood prince of theives kevin costner figure with a sculpted executioner's mask. As you can plainly see i had not learned much of anything yet. . . The paint is sloppy, i hadn't figured out the right consistency for the dark wash and it didn't take, the dry brushing on the mask isn't too bad but its a little gloppy and the mask itself is horribly asymmetrical but hey, it was my first try at all those things and i kinda love the way he turned out (i was pretty much just trying everything i saw in jin's tutorial). He sits on my shelf right above my desk and i would never part with him :) incidentally, does anyone know why robin hood would have a big "c" on his belt?

anyways, hope you enjoyed him and got a good chuckle. I recently received a comment about someone "wishing they could paint like me" and i just wanted to share my "humble beginnings" i guess to show that anyone can improve their craft with a little bit of studying, some practice and a whole lot of stubborn stick-to-itiveness.

thanks for taking a look, you guys are all awesome! ! I'll be back with a new custom very soon and i promise it'll be better than this :p

Yep, for me it was seeing D&D's drizzt the dark elf on ebay. I was like "whoa, I want that... but I can't afford it. Maybe I can make my own! "
