So strap in cause this is going to be a long one. If you checked out my custom creator profile, you'll see that I've done a lot of Indy figures. I'm constantly updating and revising my old work and sometimes scrapping them all together. I don't know about you, but sometimes I'll finish a figure and be so proud of it, then a year later I can't stand to look at it. Maybe its just me. But anyway, I wanted to perfect my Indy figures and make a definitive Indiana Jones in 3.75" scale. I have to give a big shout out to Asher who made this incredible Indy custom. So I basically just aped his design. Sorry Asher, don't be mad at me. Indy's head was a cast of a Hallmark Indiana Jones ordainment. Probably the best likeness of Harrison Ford I've ever seen. That's including any Star Wars figure. Figure Realm wouldn't let me post the link to ebay where you can buy one. Sorry guys. Painting the eyes was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do on a figure. The hat made it especially difficult to make any detail. But I'm pleased. The chest and abs came form an X-men Origins Wolverine. I've seen a lot of guys use this as an Indy base. I cut the bottom half of his abs off and glued it onto some GI Joe fodder piece I had then smoothed everything out with epoxie sculpt. I sculpted a collar to elongate the neck and make the shirt more visible so the jacket wouldn't cover up too much of it. The upper legs were from a Marvel universe Professor X and the lower legs and shoes came from one of the Hasbro Indy figures. The arms were also from one of the Hasbro Indy figures. I noticed that the forearms kinda look a little thin so I sculpted some sleeves to make them more thick. The hands were kind of a mess. I cut off the joint from the hands that came from the Indy figure forearm and glued it to the hands from the GI Joe Cobra Commander figure. But it worked. I recommend krazy glue brand glue for all projects. Its fast drying and really really tough. The belt was from the Hasbro Indy figures, obviously. The pouch was too small as is so i added some length to the strap and made it longer. Painting was something I put a lot of thought into. The right shade of color can make or break a custom in my opinion. The one thing most fans can agree on is that the Hasbro figures pretty much failed in this department. The gun was from the Disney Theme Park Exclusive Indy. Still my favorite Indy figure. Anyway. Thanks for listening to my rambling. Hope you enjoy my custom. Comments are always appreciated. ![]() |
