This is a character from the comic Gargoyle by Moonlight, from Moonrise comics. It is a local comic from St. Louis. I made this for the artist and writers of the comic to fight over. If you have the opportunity please pick it up and enjoy it.
Gary Doyle is a man cursed to turn into a Gargoyle every night and battle evil.
It is based on the Marvel Select Sabretooth figure. I sculpted over the original head, retaining the eyes and mouth. The entire body was cut and textured to look like stone. It was painted with several different shades of black and Grey, layered, and dry brushed. The cloak is three separate pieces of fabric layered on top of each other. Each piece of fabric is individually wired so that they can be posed in different positions. The hood can be pushed back to reveal the entire head, horns and all.
The pants were made from cloth as well and have pockets on the back and cargo pockets on the side. The belt is a strip of vinyl that I painted brown I then added a metal buckle, and added little pieces of cloth for the belt loops. The figure was painted with Model Masters Acrylic paints and sealed with a flat clear Acrylic.
