Eric, the Cavalier from Dungeons & Dragons (Dungeons and Dragons) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:60950
Name:Eric, the Cavalier from Dungeons & Dragons
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Dungeons and Dragons
Creator:Kjia
Date Added:April 30, 2014
Base Figure:MU Dr. Doom
Height:4.00 inches
Completion Time:6.00 hours
Eric was made using mostly the MU Dr. Doom body. The arms and uppers legs were tediously poked with a tool to achieve the scaled armor look. Some parts painted.

Head = G.I Flint (v21)
Body = MU Dr. Doom
Cape = MU Thor
Shield = MU Patriot

The rest of the D&D cartoon team is in the works already. Thanks all.

Also, I have a horrible problem with the paint on his 'skirt' part of the tunic. It will not dry fully. It is still sticky to the touch after months and will smear if I mess with it at all. If anyone knows a solution for why the same paint would remain 'wet' on some plastics but not others, please advise.

Brilliant transformation! I had that paint issue with Testor enamels. It was mainly too much paint thinner, which caused it to rub off and not completely dry for weeks. Sargent Art acrylic paint dried well on Marvel Legends figures. Ultra Cover 2X spray paint goes on well and drys solid by the next day. Go with light even coats.

Your paint problem will happen with any type paint even acrylic. It used to happen to me with JLU figures all the time due to the garbage plastic that mattel used. It's like a chemical reaction that the plastic is having with the paint. The plastic basically starts secreting an oil from within which will never allow the paint to dry. Before you paint any figures, especially the more rubbery type parts. Wipe it thoroughly with pure Acetone. It can be bought at any store in the nail polish dept. This is not 100% cure, but it does help the problem not to arise as much. Then when you paint the figure use Testors Dullcote after. It is a spray on clear cote & once it's sealed that will usually never happen. You can usually take a figure that stayed " sticky " & spray it with Dullcote to " fix " an already existing problem. You should give it a shot with your Eric.

BTW Nice job on the figure. Used to like that cartoon BITD. Hopefully you will make Venger also.

Beautiful, thanks for the tips.
I have been maping out how to make a Venger, so he is in the works. Just a matter of finding the right size body as he will need to be slightly larger than the rest of the 3.75 figures. Excited to get to work.

Perfect. That Testors Dullcote worked great, got rid of the stickyness completely. It seems super chemical, but I just used it outside in the open air. It worked great. Thanks all.

That Dull cote just seems to be amazing at sealing everything in. Glad I could help out a fellow customizer. Can wait to see what you figure out for Venger.

Nice job on the figure, can't wait to see the rest of them. As to your paint issue, I'm guessing the skirt is a rubber/latex base material and if you're using oil base paints, that leaves the paint feeling tacky. Took me several figures to go Oh duh. Try an acrylic, you may have to remove your paint first though.

Thank you very much.
Yes, more of a rubber skirt. So lame because I feel the top half of the tunic turned out so well. The paint was acrylic, so I am going to try the few things noted above, and plan better for future figures.
