So, seeing how DC never did a story back in the Silver Age featuring an evil Crime Syndicate type team who were counterparts to the JSA, I decided to start that off with an Alan Scott equivalent of Power Ring. I have theorized that his secret identity is Alden Scott and he is a member of a team called the Crime Assembly of America.
The figure was a moderately difficult piece to do. I took a DC Universe Classics Flash body and removed the arms, lower legs (from the knees down), and head and opened up the cape plug in the figure's back with my Dremel. Next, I attached the lower legs of a DC Universe Classics Alan Scott Green Lantern, the arms of a DC Universe Classics Negative Man, the hands from the aforementioned Alan Scott, and the head from a DC Universe Classics Crime Syndicate 5 pack boxset Power Ring. With the body now fully reassembled, I commenced a full repaint with Testors Model Masters Guards Red for the shirt and boots, Testors Model Masters Insignia Yellow for the boot straps, Testors Model Masters Slime Green for the pants, Testors Model Masters Cadmium Yellow for the hair, and Testors Model Masters Purple Pearl for the mask. Once the paint had fully dried, I gave the entire figure two coats of flat clear. Next, I slightly modified the Alan Scott cape to remove the rope chain that hung between the two cape clasps, and then gave the cape clasps two coats of Testors Model Masters Insignia Yellow, followed by two coats of Gloss Clear. Next, I glued the Alan Scott cape in place with a generous amount of Testors Modelling cement. With the glue now dry, I glued a new chest symbol onto the figure (the symbol was made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size...however, unlike previous hand drawn symbols I had done before, this was designed to look a lot like the classic chest symbol of the Earth-3 Power Ring, except at a smaller size and in Alan Scott's color scheme), and TA-DA...Power Ring of the Crime Assembly of America!!!
Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
