Here is my latest version of the Michael Keaton Batman. He uses a DCSH Batman 2.0 base with sculpted gauntlets, shin guards, & belt. The head is custom cast as well as the cowl base. The head is from a candy despenser which is just a hair bigger than the Kenner Dark Knight Collection scale, but JUST RIGHT for the DCSH 6" line. The emblem is again a custom drawn and cut vinyl. The cape is an exciting development. I have struggled with different techniques in cape making. Cloth is nicer than the thick vinyl in my opinion for sure, but it does carry with it a scale tipoff. Here on this cape I have brought fabric and vinyl to a medium. A template for the cape is made out of scotchcal wax paper (used as a backer for decals). The template is folded to give the scalloping a built in fold to the cape that is actually SPRAYED RUBBER!!!!!. This produces an awesome effect. The rubber actually will sit on the wax paper and when dried... peels up like a decal....... BUT ITS NOT STICKY!!!!!!!!! the cape is then folded to acomodate the placement on the body, wired in through the shoulders and then the cowl base is placed ontop. The head is then fitted to attach to the cowl base and fastened to operate as a separate joint.
