This is Rich Uncle Pennybags the well known mascot for the Monopoly Games. I made him from a pretty generic wrestling figure that I got at a thrift shop. I started by chopping the legs and shortening him about an inch taking him from around 7 to a little under 6 inches tall. Then I sculpted the head, pants, bow tie, lower arms, and undershirt from sculpey, fixit sculpt, and green stuff. The hat is a playmobile top hat modified with clay to be significantly taller and have a hat band. I also added a small magnet to keep his hat from slipping off. Mr. Monopolys hands and feet are both from different random dollar store figures modified. His neck and ankle joints I turned into socket joints to increase the range of movement. Then I finished him up with a cane made from part of a coat hanger and a simple paint job. I hope you all like! :D
I think that you did an excellent job of capturing his cartoony look from the board game (particularly the head); well done! Also, kudos for using the actual game board as a background in your photos; little touches like that make all the difference.
I distinctly remember that someone else made this guy for another contest, back in the day, but they took a more realistic approach than you did. While that one was also cool, I definitely prefer your version because it's more accurate to the source material.
The figures contained in the Custom Showcase are not for sale by Figure Realm, and the creators of the customs are no way affiliated with Figure Realm. The Custom Showcase is purely for entertainment purposes and only provides a means for the creators to show off their work and trade ideas. Figure Realm does not make or sell customs.
