I've done a few customs before, but I've never felt so proud about one as my first one. I created him around 2009 or 2010, when I was 14 or 15 out of a desire to see a more intimidating Scarecrow that had more of a costume but that could still be in Christopher Nolan's world. I love Cillian Murphy's performance, and understood why he only had the mask in Batman Begins, but if they wanted to bring him back in the sequels he should have had a costume, as he was no longer leading a double life as a psychologist. His appearances in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises were just pathetic. Over the years I've improved upon him. The original body had a severely loose leg, and I had put a few pocket chains on his legs from movie masters Joker figures I had lying around. I also had given him a small bloody pipe as his weapon, and had twisty ties and plastic barbed wire sticking out of his coat. As I got older I realized the chains, pipe, ties, and barb did not fit the character's motif. So I transferred the jacket, head, and hat onto a new body and revamped him with some brown threads sticking out and a muddy/dirty paint scheme. With that story out of the way, here is the recipe. Hat: Mezco Spirit figure, dremelled to fit scarecrow. It is removable and fits snugly. Head: Movie Masters, with hair tufts removed to fit hat and improve appearance. Painted eyes black, with one being red to simulate fear toxin. Weapon: Buffy Anya figure. Fear gas sprayer: fodder? ![]() |
