Figure is an Armored MMPR Red Ranger figure I bought from target. I think the detail, muscle, and size make it a better buy than the figurearts figure, which is plain, tiny, and overpriced to boot. I love the original red ranger, and after being inspired by the MMPR fan film being made I wanted to update the uniform a little bit.
I took the figure apart, and washed it with dish soap. I then gave the head a completely original sculpt with sculpey, giving it a more intimidating appearance, and reinforced the sides with Aves apoxy sculpt after it dried to resist cracking when I put the head back on. I also replaced the lips with a smooth mouthpiece which I thought would look more serious, and added vents on the sides of the helmet. I sculpted a new diamond plate on his chest, and sculpted a custom power coin with aves on top of that. I then primed the figure with gunmetal grey, drybrushed silver on afterwards for a beaten metal look, and then painted clear red on top. I changed the diamond from white to silver, and added padding on the front, sides, and back of his uniform. I removed the extra diamonds on the boots and replaced them with one large diamond on the front, and added armor plating on the back of his boots. I painted the gloves and boots a darker white to give the appearance of wear, and updated his belt using GI Joe ammo belts.

Afterwards, I repainted his weapons, and modified the blade blaster to look like it does when it's really in gun mode. I repainted the Dragon Shield and dagger, and I'll add pictures of them later.

Overall, I think Jason looks even better, while preserving the classic look.
