All of this is just paint work. I really like the grey/black/silver/red color scheme of the modern X-Force so I've made quite a team of them. In a decision I may regret later I've actually scrubbed all of the old figures and plan to redo them. Cable is the first of the 2.0 team, though he hadn't been painted previously. As an artist I put a lot of pressure on myself to be the best I can be and I felt like those old customs just aren't up to par since I've improved quite a bit in my painting skill since I started. I'm not sure Cable ever actually wore this uniform, so I just kept the colors going and went with it. I wondered about the brown parts, but if I painted them black I felt like it was too much black, and the bands on the boots and the belt pouches would kind of get lost in all that black, so for now I've opted to just paint them a darker brown to keep the details.
