Proxima midnight is one of thanos' lieutenants in the black order. She is the grreatest warrior in all of thanos' army. She has great physical power and ability.

proxima midnight was sent to atlantis as part of thanos' invasion. However, when she got there she found a broken man in namor as atlantis had already been attacked by wakanda in retaliation to namor's actions during avengers vs. X-men. Promixa midnight decided to spare atlantis if he could tell her where she could locate the infinity gems that thanos was looking for. Namor agreed to her terms and also gave his allegiance to her cause.
