The 50th Anniversary of the X-MEN is next month and I'm gearing up with some customs coming your way soon. In the meantime and in the spirit of X I want to show you a custom I did back in 2010.

RACHEL SUMMERS in her hound/Phoenix glory.

I posted her on another site back then and just dug up these photos from my old hard drive. She's long since been sold. I always wanted to make another but haven't.

RECIPE:
PSYLOCKE from head to toe
All three heads were cast.
-Human head was a cast with sculpt and braid from an "AVATAR" Sully figure.
-Transforming head was a cast of human head but with super glue to add flaming bits and different paint job.
-Full Phoenix head had sculpted flames made from super sculpy, then cast in clear resin, then painted.
when she's back lit her hair and eyes glow with the fury of the Phoenix Force.
The spikes on the costume were made with silver puff paint.
Finished off with a metallic red paint job.

The PHOENIX EFFECT was completely sculpted with the exception of the wings. (those were from a fantasy phoenix figurine from a hobby store) then the body was cast in clear resin and painted.

She was a labor of love for sure. Hopefully one of these days I'll get to make a new and improved one.
