I'm a huge fan of the 1981 cult classic film, "Heavy Metal" (Metal Hurlant), and I've always wanted to make a custom version of Taarna, however, I never could figure out what figure base I wanted to use. When Masters of The Universe Classics came out, I thought one of the female figures would make a great base, but at the time they were a bit too cost prohibitive for custom fodder purposes. Fast forward and recently Big Lots has been selling the MOTUC line at a heavily discounted price, and that is how I found the base figure (Catra) for this project. The figure is heavily modded, with a great deal of custom sculpting. In fact, this is my first time sculpting female hair from scratch...gotta love the 80's hair! Taarna's sword is a heavily modded Witchblade figure sword. The bases she's on represents the evil Loc-Nar crystal. Coming from an adult animation, hopefully, the figure isn't too racy ...hey, I didn't design her costume!:)
