After messing around with my Stormtrooper for a couple days I realized that a Luke Skywalker Stormtrooper could still be a long way off. I started to panic... I freaked!!! I grabbed my dremmel and got to grinding. I bored the neck hole on the Luke Skywalker head to fit the Stormtrooper peg. I covered the ball joint in baby powder and blew the excess off then filled Luke's head with hot glue. I pressed them together and within minutes I had a tight functional custom ball joint... Good as bought.

Ooohh. With supplied parts maybe but with these guys being pretty hard to get a hold of I couldn't sign on to chase these boogers down again. We've got 10 targets in our 30 mile area... Talk about a goose chase.

So how did you get all the sand paint apps off it?
I'm thinking of cleaning mine up and I figure there's two ways to go about it.
a) paint over it in white
b) take off the brown with nail polish remover or other solvent.
Nice piece btw.

I used a lacquer thinner, Qtips and paper towels. Used for cleaning brushes and tools. Knocks it right off. Watch the black though. It's pretty thin paint.

Ah. Yes, now I see your Stormtrooper where you explain how you cleaned it up. Thanks for the info - I'm gonna try that now.

Beat me to it. It's my current project. But is the helmet removable?

No but that's definitely the next step. Figure I'd cast it. Though it does look like his head is slightly deeper than the helmet too.

It's not. You can dremel it out

Yeah. I get nervous doing that. If I go too far I'm out a perfectly good head. No way to go.

You'll be fine. I did it. It does get thin though

But I figure if I make a mold then IV got helmets to spare on demand. Keeps me in my comfort zone.

I figured this would be the first Black Series custom we'd see. Looks great. I'm worthless with a dremmel, so I'll hold out for the inevitable release. Maybe a Luke/Han 2-pack someday?
