This piece is for a fellow who really likes his airplane and Optimus Prime. His girlfriend specified the color scheme (it mimics his airplane's colors/tail markings), and I used Photoshop mockups decided on the final color scheme. She originally was interested in a statue, but decided on a non-transforming action figure.

The backpack was built from styrene, parts of a junker VF-1 figure, and copious amounts of Aves Apoxie Sculpt. I had to reinvent the wing articulation, as the wing's original plastic joints (without being reinforced) just were not durable enough.

I also had to replace Optimus' chest doors (window area) with a white resin cast (made from my unmodified personal MP-10 figure). Reason being that the Tamiya fine surface primer I used (to achieve maximum coverage/ bright white look) was leeching something out of the red plastic underneath - turning the paintjob pink (!?).

That setback aside, the project went over well. I included a bonus resculpt of the included MP-10 minifigure to match the boyfriend's description, an airfield base (textured spray paint + airbrush stencil work + sealed), and a few Reprolabels if he's so inclined.

All paints used were Tamiya acrylics/sprays. Sealed with a few coats of Mr. Hobby Glossy UV Cut Super Clear spray.
