As far as I'm concerned there has never been a Daredevil figure that felt completely right. There's always something about each figure I really like (head sculpt, body sculpt, paint job, etc.) but never one figure that just felt right. Well, you know what they say: if you want something done right you have to do it yourself! The base figure is an Urban Legends Daredevil figure. It's my favorite paint job out of all of the Marvel Legends/Spider-man Classics DD figures. It's also my favorite body sculpt - athletic but not bulky. The head on the figure, however, has always been too small and the gloves and boots are "blah" so I removed them. Their replacement? The head, boots, and gloves of a Face-off Daredevil figure. Those gloves and boots really have that weathered, leathery look that I like. The gloves and boots were a bit too wide socket-wise so I used some Apoxy Sculpt to beef up the pegs for a snug, yet hidden, fit that is still fully articulated. The head from the Face-off DD is also my favorite head sculpt but the paint job is really bright red. Utilizing a blend of Model Master Acrylic Earth Red and Insignia Red I was able to give the head a good even paint scheme that blended perfectly with the body. All in all? A simple enough custom but a Daredevil I am very happy to have in my figure collection! ![]() |
