This long sought after custom which many Sonic fans are dying for, but Jazwares can't seem to touch, was created for the very purpose I intended to make her for...to prove that if you want something done, it's best to do it yourself; and Project: Freedom Leader is no exception here, period.
Sporting her signature vest and armed with a hand pistol, this Sally custom was primarily created from a spare Tails and Amy Rose figure I had laying around for a short period. Other accessories, like her arms and hands, came from other Sonic figures and a very old DC Universe figure...which the name slips my memory bank at the moment. Nichole, Sally's comp and spare companion, was simply created from a modified Power Rangers: RPM figure's morpher, nothing more. Unfortunately, she is NOT a removable accessory from Freedom Leader's boot.
Sculpting this figure wasn't too easy as she carries some imperfections across her face; but the big issue was repainting this custom. Many days on and off due to paint shortages, plus work in between caused the completion of this project to be revealed late from her estimated date...by about 7 months so.
Failure to let this custom completely dry before sealing, caused another imperfection over time. As the months passed by after completion, Sally's paint work began chipping and flaking away during her original filming sequence with, Sonic: Dark Tomorrow; and the filming for that stop motion project, which I will not discuss here...had to be delayed. None the less, Sally has been repainted completely; and has been sealed off with a based clear coat this time upon dried.
While the imperfections still exist on the figure today, I have no further plans on going back to this project. Another Freedom Leader has been mentioned before; and will soon be a work in progress for next years lineup of, SONIC: Customs.
Though it never fails to put a smile on my face every time I look back at the comments and PMs on my youtube channel, asking for me to start a commission basis with, Project: Freedom Leader. As many people have never received a reply, or have been denied multiple times with a simple, "NO!"...all I can say at this point is...well...that's a discussion for another day, perhaps...ending with, Project: Freedom Leader II...
