I really liked the sandman figure from the spiderman classics range and as I had a spare one I decided to customise it a bit. I split open the waist of the figure and separated it from the upper torso. I then removed the pin in the upper torso to allow me to easily separate the two parts. I then found an old nick fury base and glued the iron bar from the collosus x men classics range. This was then sculpted over using milliput and spare sculpy.

I then mixed real sand with glue from gamesworkshop and painted it directly to the base and the axe and large fist. Incidentally the large fist is a mix of a movie mr fantastic fist and sculpy.

I'm very happy with the way the sand and glue technique worked and have started to modify other sandman arms in the same way.
