When I saw this contest, I thought to myself... what better combo could you possibly enter other than a Predator with armor from the Borg on the Star Trek show ? Can there be any more "spaced out" combo than that ? The Predator and Star Trek are two of the most Iconic designs ever to come out of space. I thought this would represent both sides very well.

Reading about the behind the scenes of Predator 2, I learned that the armor used on this particular Predator suit was actual armor that was left over from the Borg episodes from the old star trek tv show. Very interesting, and extremely cool since this Predator was actually seen at the end of Predator 2 on screen for a few brief seconds as one of the Predators that surrounds Detective Harrigan (Danny Glover) inside the Predator Ship. He is located to the right (facing your tv) of the Elder Predator as they un-cloak.

To bring this one into light, I used numerous behind the scenes photos of the Predator to get his colorings correct, including the armor. Most of the photos were Stan Winston behind the scenes, or from auction pieces selling the remnants of the suit. I used these photos on the 3rd photo to show the accuracy. I also used a stock NECA figure photo to show the difference of stock vs this figure. He was never one of my favorite Preds but since doing this repaint of NECA's "Lost" Predator, he has moved up the list of best Preds.

Other than a film accurate repaint, I didn't do much to the guy. I had to repaint every part, including the dreadlocks, which was a real pain, because the factory had the gold rings in all the wrong locations. The skin, and armor was completely repainted and made more accurate. His sword, belt, and loin cloths were also repainted, as well as the ropes that hold them on. I also put protective coats of superglue on the tips of the nails on the hands and feet, and the sword to prevent any kind of chipping or wear. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do !!!

Nice work, the original paint job is certainly bland. not sure where you heard borgs armor is from star trek, I suppose its possible they might have used it also, its origin is in a long forgotten movie called "the vindicator", which features a cyborg. SWS did the special effects and used leftovers in this design.

Don't get me wrong he looks great and I am sure you worked hard on him but I think you should have actually made him a Borg Predator. Like he had actually been assimilated into the collective. While skin and perhaps even go as far as adding an eye piece. However, you did a great job making him movie accurate.

Thats what I like about you man, straight up with your criticisms. I was never a real star trek fan, but I figured the stan winston crew's borg predator idea was great to fit into the contest. The lack of actual customizing on him is why I did so poorly in the contest too. I tried
