When I first got into making customs, I started with 6" figures. This was before Marvel Universe got past the short fat bodies and took off, and every custom I saw and liked was 6" anyway. But, once I was introduced to the 3 3/4" scale I really took to it, so I quickly left 6" behind. However, I recently had a request to make a larger scale Hellstrom, and decided to give it a shot. Yeah, I still prefer the smaller scale. Working on this guy was like relearning everything about customs over again. Learning what goes well with what. After I got the request I made a smaller scale version for fun and to get opinions on the design as I was waiting for parts to arrive to save time. That one was fast, whereas this one was slow. But, time pays off, I guess. He took a lot of sanding and re-sculpting since the whole base was Human Torch. Had to sand away the gloves, cut of the flames, and sand the emblem off his chest. So, then I sculpted over where the flames were and pretty much redid the whole chest. Sculpted up the belt, then added the studs and buckle to it, as well. Same chains as I did with my smaller one, and got the staff from Blue Devil. Really happy with how he came out.
