We need all units to loading bay! GIRDER IS OUT!!! "And I ain't goin back SO COME ON!" Ex-steelworker Tony Woodward, A.K.A. Girder, is a super-villain and enemy of the Flash. Tony caused a riot at a steel plant after he assaulted a female employee. Angry coworkers threw Tony into a vat of molten steel. The liquid steel included recycled scraps from experiments performed by S.T.A.R. Labs. These scraps somehow turned Tony's body into living metal. Tony's new body looked like it had been put together in a scrapyard. Girder was arrested for robbery and sent to Iron Heights until he escaped with a number of other prisoners during a viral outbreak at the prison.. After escaping Iron Heights, he joined up with Blacksmith and her Rogues to take over Keystone City and Central City. He later appeared as one of the Rogues being mind controlled by the Top in Rogue War. Girder was also one of the villains sent to planet Salvation. He was among the villains recruited by Tapeworm to ambush the JSA. Girder was imprisoned in Iron Heights, but was freed by the resurrected Captain Boomerang to distract the guards so he could speak to the similarly resurrected Professor Zoom. One year after the battle with Alexander Luthor and Superboy-Prime, Girder was seen in San Francisco fighting the Teen Titans, but was defeated. Girders body is composed entirely of iron. He has incredible strength and durability as well as stamina. Girder is a thug who enjoys destroying things and people. He is not particularly bright. Girder has survived being ripped in half by Magenta after making crude advances towards her. He was later welded back together by S.T.A.R. Labs and returned to Iron Heights. His body rusts when exposed to oxygen, unless, he is kept in a special environment like his cell in Iron Heights or under the effects of Magnetism powers. Without Magenta, Girder will rust to the point where he is unable to move. Girder was created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, first appearing in Flash: Iron Heights. (2001) . Height: 8‘0” Weight: 400lbs NOTES: He has been seen wearing a t-shirt with the words- KILL 'EM ALL Kestone City USA Sometimes appears with the phrase LIVE RUST graffitied on his chest. Girder has been in 22 comics to date since being created in 2001. QOUTES: "NIGHT SPEEDY !" "RUST'N AGAIN RRN..." “I’m not supposed to be here. They told me they’d help. I was just minding my own business. Doing my job…agg… Do you know what it’s like, Flash ? To feel yourself rust away ?” RECIPE: Head- Sota SF Zangief Hair- 3 WWE Elite wrestlers plus plastic scraps Upper Body- DCUC IMPERIEX and a lot of Epoxy. Lower Half- LCBH Marv All the rivets were made with styrene cut from a rod and glued on. I cut Marv and Imperiex in half, retaining the abs of Imperiex and half the absof Marv. I sanded them down and epoxy glued them together. The ab-crunch on Imperiex has almost no articulation so I cut and sand the joints to be able to move. Nearly the entire upper half was sculpted. Everything was sculpted using epoxy, painted in acrylics and sealed. I took the photo with a white background in hopes of getting the details better. Thanks for looking and as always- comments are welcomed and appreciated! Happy Voting! ![]() |
