Dwellers of the "realm"...... Just want to share my latest custom work with you all. First and foremost I just wanted to say that I believe the first person to do this custom with this recipe is a fellow artist/customizer who goes by the name, "Whitey's Workshop" here on the Figure Realm. I did a few things differently against the original customizers work to preserve what I feel to be trade marked to him and to feel comfortable producing my own version. Basically its a 2007 TMNT movie Splinter toy with a bit of altering.
Its was a bunch of dremeling and a little sculpting. Splinters sparring dummy, cane, carpet and flower basket were all made from scratch. The rug is Origami paper glued to bossa wood. The bowl is basically a "bowl" I made with Aves apoxie sculpt. Splinters sparring 'dummy' is a couple of wooden dowels and glue with a bit of shaping and sanding. The flowers were originally yellow tulips. I bought them at a local gardening center gift shop and painted them over with violet paint. The idea was that there are four of them, one for each of his sons. VERY special thank you to Whiteys Workshop for this inspiration. ~ Kevlar

The figure is beautifully done, but the accessories help make it stand out as one of the best Splinter figures on this site. A truly amazing job!

Awesome! Im gonna take my own stab at this figure as well but I was wondering what was the best way to break off the shoulder pads?

I used wire cutters to get most of it off. Then go in with an exacto and carefully carve away. Take your time and sliver off tiny pieces. Also pop the head off with hot water, cause it makes it a helluva lot easier and you won't damage the head with the knife.

thanks!! one more question (sorry this is my first custom) did you use a black base coat over the fur parts to get all those great black details?

What colors did you combine to make the robe color? And what did you use for teeth? Great custom.

How big is this splinter next to TMNT Classic Collection Turtles? Can you take a picture if you have them?

Thanks!
