This is Oliver Queen aka- Green Arrow, Arrow, or The Hood as seen in the CW's "Arrow". This is my second custom from the show, and call me crazy, but I love it. I know it's not your typical superhero show, but it's dark, full of action, and I love all the little comic references like "I should get to Center City in a flash" or Laurel Lance saying "why would I ever wear fishnet stockings" But enough about the show- on to my custom.

I used an Ultimate Captain America by Hasbro for the base. Took off his vest and utility belt, cut out the gun on his holster, and sanded down his mask lines. Then I primed the figure and molded on his vest/hood, shin guards, small arrow pouch on his arm, and the medium arrows for his side holster. (I used the handle of an XActo knife for the vest's texture) After that was dry, I tried my hand at the technique that was previously on this site for trench coats- I figured it would look good for his leather suit- so I painted the suit DARK green, then dry brushed with a slightly lighter green, and the a faint dry brush of kelly green. Then painted his vest and shin guards a brownish green before drybrushing them with a lighter green to make the texture really pop. While that was drying, I repainted his whole face, then added his scruff and "painted on" mask. Lastly, I painted the bow in a camo green, molded his large arrow pouch and straps, and glued them on. The bow and arrows are from the Neca Hunger Games; Katniss.
I'm glad I tried new techniques on this figure, as the show's costume has a lot of different textures going on- I'm really happy with the turnout, and glad to see he fits nicely with my "Huntress" custom.
