WOW! It's been a long time since I posted anything new, but I have some stuff that's almost finished that I should be able to show soon (Move Masters Dolph Lundgren as He-Man anyone?). So here is my second MOS Cavill figure using the HML Constrictor body which is just perfect for this suit! The sculpting is once again taken up a notch and this time the paint details are taken up too, to reflect the semi-shiny look of the actual suit. I also tried to capture the true essence of the reds and yellows. He has lost NO articulation at all. The cape top at the shoulders is sculpted over a cloth cape that is glued in place. Not 100% happy with it (wish it had more folds), but overall, I think it works. I also sculpted a nice display base for him by sculpting the "S" onto a clear cd case with the cd silver side up. Thought that would look nice for it. The "S" is actually removable too, so whoever ends up with it can pull it off if they want and just stand the figure on the actual "S" As for the likeness, I think the expression is good, although its not a 100% Cavill likeness. The hairstyle proved harder to sculpt than I thought. So this head is actually a Movie Masters Bruce Wayne head with resculpted/shaped jawline and hair. I'll add the eBay link as soon as it's listed. Thanks for looking! Hope you guys dig it. The Dolph He-Man figure should be up hopefully by the end of the week. ...and a fully articulated Condorman from the old Disney movie will be done as soon as I finish the wings! After that, it's Movie Masters Zod, Jor-el, and Faora - hopefully will finish all of them before the movie is released! ![]() |

Oddly enough, of all the customs I've done, I remember THAT George Reeves custom quite often. That was the one of the DCD New Frontier base right?
Surprised you haven't tackled another Cavill figure yet. I'm about to be finished with a Condorman figure that I hope to post sometime inthe next two weeks, along with Movie Masters Zod, Jor-el (robes), and Faora, all from MAN OF STEEL
As for how I got the texturing on the suit, I basically applied a VERY thin layer of Apoxie Sculpt to each segment (one at a time) and then used a ball stylus to dot in in the texture row by row. It's an extremely tedious process. I actually hate it while I'm doing it because it takes so long, but the end product makes it worth the hassle. I'm also doing TWO 12 inch statues with this same technique (another Cavill with vault diorama and a Zod in the black suit), so you can imagine...it's tens of thousands of individual dots for those.
Can't wait for you to see the new statues I'm working on. Can send you some WIP pics if you want. just email me at matthewperryhancock "at" hotmail "dot" com
I love the fact that he retains the articulation and the texture is phenomenal!
