First off this is both my first custom, first sculpting job and first paint job, so dont be too gentle but please give me all the suggestions and advice you guys have!! I started with an old Hulk figure which had one of his arms broken right off. I figured id give this whole custom thing a go and started searching for other donor parts to build my idea of Frankenstein. I found what I was looking for in an uruk-hai warrior and the orc rider which were also both damaged. I cut them both at the waist and did some trimming until I had the basic fitment where I wanted them to attatch and fixed them to the body with Loctite apoxie. Next I removed the hulks head and fit a ball joint into the middle of the hulks chest for the new head to be held on and swivel with. The head was from an old small soldiers Troblicon. All the sculpting was done with super sclupey. Lost the mobility in the hulks lateral arm movement so I made that part of the build and pretended it had been "soldered" shut and only had some of the use of his arm left. The backstory for this guy is that he was made by an un-named top level anatomical scientist. When the man behind the funding turned out that he wanted the research for, non benevolent reasons, the scientist attempted to hide his success. Both "Frank" and the chemical behind the ability to sustain life and supercharge the bodies were hidden out of sight. When the funder found out about this, he caught the scientist and tortured him, ending the treatment by implanting the great mind of the scientist into a dying, broken, destroyed corpse. However it was done in a primitive way, leaving the scientist in constant agony. Frank was thought to not be able to learn and to be only able to follow orders. However the scientist left a driving system on frank so that he can essentially pilot Frank. And with time, he discovers that Frank is capable of learning, and advances mentally like a child. More backstory as I get the other characters done, and Ill update this once my Scientist is finished but, here is the successful life experiment. Code 'Frank'.

Hell of a first custom. Ambitious, and it really comes off great. You have good painting skills and the imagination and design behind it is really good. Impressive. Upper left arm looks really weird, and hard to see how the musculature works under there without it just being kinda blob-y, but it's hard to say that's wrong for the character. Maybe that arm is really fat. It's really solid work overall.

Appreciate it Warhorse! I think I may have to contribute to the board so I can upload more photos in the future, I would have loved to add a photo of the how the former head spots were sewed up and bloody but lack of available pics didn't allow that!

Thanks! I have a ton kicking around in my head right now from my own line of characters. I decided to do the biggest scale one first to get used to the whole crafting and painting system on a slightly larger scale. Here is hoping that the next few are on par The next addition will either be the scientist(un named at this time) and the giant cloak for frank or the antagonist of the series. Oh question, if anyone has experience, when it comes to tendrils made from rubber dip and twist ties, at the painting stage, what do I mix with the paint so that it doesn't crack?? I hear to use latex but where do I get that?

Thank you very much, I have crept around the forum for a long time and had this character in my head for better part of year, he started with a simple drawing and after about ten hours of work came to life! But again thank you for the compliment!
